MindsEye: New GTA-Style Game Trailer Released, Priced at $60 with Content Plan
MindsEye, the upcoming title from Build A Rocket Boy—studio founded by former Rockstar North lead Leslie Benzies—has just received a major update. The studio released a new gameplay trailer, confirmed the game’s launch price at $59.99, and detailed what players can expect when the game launches across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on June 10, 2025.
The official description paints an intriguing narrative backdrop for MindsEye:
Set in the near-futuristic metropolis of Redrock, MindsEye offers a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier wrestling with fragmented memories stored within his experimental MindsEye neural implant. As he unravels a deep conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate corruption, militarized overreach, and a looming existential threat to humanity, the game delivers its cinematic vision through Unreal Engine 5-powered visuals.
What sets MindsEye apart is its exclusive PC-focused Game Creation System, which grants players full access to the same tools and assets used by developers to create custom experiences within the game world. This feature promises to extend the game's longevity far beyond launch.
At a time when many AAA titles are trending toward the $70–$80 range, MindsEye’s $59.99 price point is being marketed as a compelling alternative. So, what exactly do players get for their investment?
- A focused, story-driven single-player campaign
- Single-player free roam mode
- Horde-style mission: "Destruction Site Shootout"
- Two combat missions: "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire"
- Six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races
- Premium Pass holders receive one additional horde mission and an exotic cosmetics pack
The current industry debate around game pricing has intensified following Nintendo’s decision to set Mario Kart World at $80 and Microsoft’s plan to follow suit during the 2025 holiday season. Against this backdrop, MindsEye positions itself as a middle-ground option—offering robust content without breaking the bank. It joins a growing list of games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and 2K’s Mafia: The Old Country, both priced at $50 and aiming to deliver value without compromising quality.

These will include new missions, challenges, and player-accessible game assets, ensuring that MindsEye evolves into a long-term, community-driven experience. According to the developer, “The continuous stream of studio-developed content, combined with the very best of the community’s own beautiful creations, means that MindsEye will continue to surprise and delight its players for decades to come.”
