Shadow Council PTY launched a closed alpha test this July for its upcoming post-apocalyptic idle MMORPG, Afterglow. This project is the Australian independent studio's debut title and is currently in an open beta phase. The team has just released Version 0.2.17, introducing a fresh update for players.

This latest patch is now accessible to testers on both Android and iOS platforms. It delivers new content, several quality-of-life improvements, and various balance changes.

Everything New in the Latest Afterglow MMORPG Update

A refreshed Actions screen is one of the first changes you'll see. It now displays the total remaining time for all your ongoing tasks.

The developers have enhanced the item information system with a dedicated industry tab. This new feature shows where items are utilized and includes a direct purchase option to simplify shopping.

Players experiencing connection issues will no longer face a blank screen. Instead, a new popup will appear with useful gameplay tips during these periods.

Combat has also seen a subtle enhancement. A new movement animation on the battle screen makes skirmishes feel more dynamic.

Meanwhile, Shadow Council has overhauled the in-game Market, adding search functionality and new categories for containers and cosmetic items. Additionally, returning from an exploration trip will no longer reset your map progress.

For better organization, "New item" notifications are now grouped together. Transaction screens also provide clearer tracking of your currency gains and losses.

Crafting receives notable refinements. You can now repeat certain actions more consecutively. Recipes for materials like Steel, Brass, and Tanned Leather no longer require specific blueprints to produce.

Crafting times for fundamental tools like threads and needles have been reduced. Armor stats have been rebalanced: Leather Armor is now classified as chemical armour, and the Arcade Revenant Armor has received a stat boost.
