"Monster Hunter Wilds Adds Real-Money Microtransactions"
Capcom's latest addition to *Monster Hunter Wilds* introduces a new feature that lets players customize their hunter and Palico's appearances. The initial edit comes at no cost, but any subsequent modifications require the purchase of Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers are available in packs of three for $6 or as a bundled set for both characters at $10. Without these vouchers, players are limited to altering only hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing; core facial features remain unchanged.

This monetization strategy was not revealed during the game's initial previews leading up to its full release. Instead, it was disclosed last week through Capcom's social media platforms. Despite facing criticism over microtransactions and performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* achieved a record-breaking launch with over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam.
Capcom has not yet responded to the community's feedback on this decision. Fans have voiced their discontent with the paid customization system, drawing unfavorable comparisons to earlier games in the series where such changes were free or earned through in-game currency. Many in the community believe this new approach detracts from what was once a core, unrestricted feature of the *Monster Hunter* franchise.
