To embark on your fishing adventure in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you'll need to meet **Kanya** at the **Forest Base Camp** in the Scarlet Forest, which you first visit during Chapter 1. You'll find her by a pond, already casting her line. Once you have full access to the camp, approach her to receive your fishing rod and the **Common Wood Minnow** lure. This interaction also kicks off the **‘Fishing: Life, in Microcosm’** sidequest, the first in a series that will unlock various bait lures, enabling you to reel in the rarest fish the game has to offer.
