"Morikomori Life: Ghibli-Style Rural Social Sim Launched"
Exciting news for fans of rural farm life simulators! Morikomori Life is now officially available on Android and iOS, but exclusively in Japan. This time, the game is being published by Realfun Studio. Initially, it was released in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games, but the Chinese version was unfortunately taken down about a year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its stunning visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the cozy essence of rural life through anime-inspired, specifically Ghibli-style art. These scenes are not the product of recent AI-generated trends but rather look like they've been directly lifted from a Studio Ghibli animated film, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The game's story follows Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother, inviting her to visit the village of Komori where she spent her childhood. As Kaon, players explore and rediscover the joys of a peaceful, rural life. The 3D toon shading used in Komori beautifully enhances the charm of the Japanese countryside, making it feel almost as real as life itself.
Don't just take our word for it—experience the serene beauty of Morikomori Life by watching these trailers:
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
Morikomori Life focuses on the joys of slice-of-life activities. Engage in farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even constructing your own home. Gather resources by chopping wood, mining for ore, and exploring to find rare materials. As you accumulate these resources, you can enhance your home and enrich your lifestyle.
Customize Kaon’s appearance to reflect your personal style and meet new friends within the village. Use foraged ingredients to whip up delicious meals and assist villagers with various tasks. The game offers a high degree of character customization and an open-world environment, allowing you to wander freely and discover delightful surprises.
Currently, Morikomori Life is available on Android in Japan. If you're in the region, you can download it from the Google Play Store. There's no confirmation yet on a global release, so keep an eye out for future updates.
