Netflix Announces Movie Based on Hit Game Sifu: Chad Stahelski and T.S. Nowlin Join the Project

Netflix is adapting the hit video game Sifu into a feature film. The project, initially announced in 2022 and developed by Story Kitchen and Sloclap (the game's developer), has expanded its production team. Deadline reports that T.S. Nowlin (known for Maze Runner and Netflix's Project Adam) is writing the screenplay. Derek Kolstad's involvement, while previously announced, remains unclear.

Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, and his production company 87Eleven Entertainment will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also working on the Ghost of Tsushima adaptation.

Released in 2022, Sifu sold over one million copies in its first three weeks. The game follows a young martial artist seeking revenge for their master's death. Using a mystical pendant that allows resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging, the protagonist faces a dangerous and intricate quest for vengeance.
