The Witcher: A New Animated Adventure

A Coastal Conflict on the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryNetflix Tudum, the official news source, confirms The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will premiere February 11, 2025. This animated feature adapts Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.

The story unfolds in a coastal village, where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk forces a Continental kingdom to enlist a Witcher's aid. Instead of the usual monsters, Geralt faces a unique challenge— battling aquatic creatures.

Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.

Sapkowski acts as creative consultant, with Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penning the screenplay. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs the film.

A Season 1 Interlude

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryThe film's timeline slots neatly between episodes 5 and 6 of the first season of the live-action series. Following Geralt and Yennefer's reunion in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt is hired to resolve a coastal monster problem.

The film's location is likely situated between Redania and Temeria, possibly Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval, as suggested by "A Little Sacrifice." However, the extent to which the film adheres to the short story remains to be seen.
