Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, participation is limited to mainland China. However, eager fans worldwide can still follow the progress as the game approaches release.

Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, which shouldn't surprise those familiar with the Eibon city trailers (see below). The updates showcase a more comedic narrative and the intriguing blend of the bizarre and ordinary within the game's Hetherau setting.

Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive 3D RPG market increasingly focused on urban environments. Neverness to Everness, however, distinguishes itself with unique features.

One standout feature is open-world driving. Players can enjoy high-speed city chases, customizing and purchasing various vehicles. Be warned, though – realistic crash physics apply!

The game faces significant competition upon release. Zenless Zone Zero from MiHoYo has set a high benchmark, and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), developed by Naked Rain, presents a similar contender in the genre.
