DOOM: The Dark Ages stole the show at Developer_Direct, but it wasn't the only major announcement. The long-awaited Ninja Gaiden 4, the next installment in Koei Tecmo's acclaimed series, was officially revealed, slated for a Fall 2025 release.

The debut trailer showcased the signature action-packed slashing gameplay featuring the return of the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces exciting new mechanics, including the ability to swiftly navigate the environment using wires and rails, as seen in the gameplay footage.

Set in a stunning cyberpunk city perpetually drenched in toxic rain, players will battle hordes of augmented soldiers and terrifying otherworldly creatures in a desperate effort to lift an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.

Adding to the excitement, a massive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2—already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S (and included in Game Pass)—was also highlighted. Team Ninja has meticulously rebuilt the game using Unreal Engine 5, resulting in completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments. Furthermore, the remaster incorporates elements from later series entries, and excitingly, adds three new playable characters.

Koei Tecmo's dedication to this project is evident, and their efforts certainly deserve the community's attention.
