Both CNET Japan and the Sankei newspaper reported Nintendo's denial, stating that the images and videos presented by Genki are unofficial. The company emphasized that Genki did not receive any Switch 2 hardware from Nintendo.
Genki, a US-based manufacturer of electronics and gaming accessories (including controllers, SSDs, and chargers), generated considerable buzz at CES 2025 by showcasing the mockup and hinting at possessing a functional Switch 2 unit, along with a purported release date. Their website even features an animated mockup of a Switch 2 alongside a dedicated page for planned Switch 2 accessories.
This contradicts Nintendo's official stance, which remains that details about the Switch 2 are forthcoming.
