Nintendo Responds to Switch 2 Leaks from CES 2025

Following a series of Nintendo Switch 2 leaks originating from CES 2025, Nintendo has issued an official statement. The company confirmed that the images circulating online are not official Nintendo materials. This marks a rare public response from Nintendo regarding product leaks.

The statement, given to the Sankei Shimbun, simply clarifies that Nintendo is not participating in CES 2025, therefore any Switch 2 imagery shown at the event cannot be considered authentic promotional material.

The Accuracy of Genki's Replica

While Nintendo didn't comment on the accuracy of the replica showcased by accessory maker Genki, the device aligns with previous leaks and rumors. The most notable difference from the original Switch is the inclusion of an additional button, labeled "C," located below the right Joy-Con's home button. Its function remains unknown. Genki CEO Eddie Tsai also mentioned that the Joy-Cons will reportedly use magnetic attachment and function as a mouse, corroborating existing speculation.
