During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled exciting news for gamers: nearly the entire Nintendo Switch catalog will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. However, a select group of titles will receive special "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" versions, boasting enhanced features. These lucky games include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Mario Party: Jamboree.

Each Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game offers unique upgrades tailored to enhance the gaming experience. The first game showcased was Super Mario Party: Jamboree, which introduces "Jamboree TV," featuring innovative mouse controls, audio recognition, enhanced rumble feedback, and gameplay integration with a new camera accessory.

Additionally, a new service called Zelda Notes will be available through the Nintendo Switch Online app, offering voice guidance for locating Shrines and Koroks, as well as the ability to share creations in Tears of the Kingdom via QR code.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is set to receive a new story exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, titled Star-Crossed World, along with improved graphics and framerates.

Two upcoming titles, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, will also benefit from upgraded versions. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will support mouse controls and boast 4K resolution at 60fps with HDR, while Pokemon Legends: Z-A will feature enhanced resolution and framerates.
