Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement comes from a recent press release, which also highlights significant leadership changes within Sony Corporation. Hiroki Totoki, the current CFO of Sony, will step into the role of president and CEO of the entire company, succeeding Kenichiro Yoshida, who has been at the helm since April 2018, following Kazuo Hirai. Additionally, Lin Tao, the Senior Vice President of Finance, Corporate Development, and Strategy, will take on the role of CFO.

Just last year, following the retirement of former SIE CEO Jim Ryan, it was announced that leadership responsibilities would be shared between Nishino and Hermen Hulst. Hulst was appointed to lead PlayStation Studios, while Nishino took charge of hardware and technology. With this new development, Nishino will now oversee the entire SIE operation and lead the platform business group, while Hulst will continue to focus specifically on PlayStation Studios.

Nishino, who has been with Sony since 2000, previously held the position of Senior Vice President of the Platform Experience Group. Commenting on his new role, Nishino stated, "I am truly honored to take the helm at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
