Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil new details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, a first-person shooter boasting a striking 1930s cartoon aesthetic. The game casts players as private investigator Jack Pepper, embroiled in a thrilling noir adventure filled with jazz, dynamic action, and plenty of mystery.

A key announcement, made via the game's official X account, confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single-player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a microtransaction-free experience is noteworthy, particularly within the indie single-player shooter market.

The game's visual style is heavily inspired by the rubber hose animation prevalent in 1930s cartoons, transporting players to a nostalgic world brimming with vibrant energy. Players will navigate a crime-ridden city, battling mobs, gangs, and corrupt officials using an arsenal of whimsical weapons, power-ups, and explosives. The gameplay promises a humorous twist on classic FPS mechanics, featuring unique health displays and cartoonish enemies.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for a 2025 launch.
