The latest update for Palworld, version 0.5.0, brings a host of exciting new features to the game, including crossplay functionality across all platforms. This update allows players to seamlessly enjoy Palworld with friends on different systems, enhancing the community and multiplayer experience.

One of the standout features of this update is the Global Palbox, which enables players to store and transfer Pal data between different worlds. Additionally, the new Dimensional Pal Storage system offers ten times the capacity of the standard Palbox. This expansive storage can be accessed by guild members and can also be set to private for personal use, giving players greater flexibility in managing their resources.

Palworld now includes a cosmetic armour system, allowing players to change their character's appearance without affecting their armour stats. This feature, accessible through the Antique Dresser, adds a new level of customization to the game. Furthermore, the introduction of a Photo Mode lets players capture stunning in-game screenshots, enhancing the visual storytelling aspect of Palworld.

The update also introduces a Drafting Table, where players can combine low-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity ones, encouraging more strategic gameplay. Dedicated servers for Mac users have also been added, ensuring a smoother experience for those playing on Apple devices.

Developer Pocketpair is actively working on bringing dedicated servers to the PlayStation 5 version of Palworld, with a release planned for the future. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players, showcasing its immense popularity. Looking ahead, Pocketpair has outlined a content roadmap for 2025 that includes an "ending scenario" and more new content, promising even more to look forward to.

Launched on Steam at a price of $30 and included in Game Pass for Xbox and PC, Palworld broke sales and concurrent player number records. The game's massive success led Pocketpair to form Palworld Entertainment with Sony, aimed at expanding the game's IP and bringing it to the PS5.

However, Palworld's journey has not been without challenges. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have initiated a lawsuit against Pocketpair, alleging patent infringement. Pocketpair has responded by tweaking gameplay mechanics, such as how players summon Pals, and is prepared to defend its position in court.

・Buildings can now be placed even if they overlap with a Pal
・When connecting foundations or roofs, the connected pieces will now automatically align in the same direction

・Adjusted elemental chest rewards. Dog Coins will always drop from these chests and they also have a small chance of containing work suitability books. (Existing chests in current worlds will retain old drop tables; new ones will follow the updated table.)

・Increased the DPS of Flamethrowers
・Adjusted the default attack used by Electric and Dark Pals when all active skills are on cooldown, making them more in line with the other elements
・Some human NPCs now have work suitability and work animations when assigned tasks at a base

・NPC event rewards have been adjusted. To maintain fairness, all NPC conversation logs have been reset, allowing players to claim rewards again!
