Pokémon Day took place on February 27th. To mark the occasion, The Pokémon Company shared exciting updates during a Pokémon Presents stream, showcasing Pokémon Legends: Z-A, new Pokémon Concierge episodes, and the upcoming battle simulator Pokémon Champions.

We’re thrilled about Pokémon Champions, the new battle sim. Created by The Pokémon Works alongside Game Freak, it focuses solely on competitive battles, leaving out catching Pokémon, exploring fields, or earning Gym Badges.

What’s Known About Pokémon Champions, the New Battle Sim?

Pokémon Champions offers a multiplayer experience with cross-platform support, launching on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. It will feature various modes, though specifics remain undisclosed.

A key highlight of Pokémon Champions is its integration with Pokémon Home, allowing players to import select Pokémon from past games. However, not all Pokémon will be available at launch, with only a curated roster usable initially.

Pokémon Champions appears to be a dedicated space for competitive battles, offering intense matchups without the main series’ typical elements. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek.
