Pokémon TCG Pocket butters up players with free trade tokens as they work on improving feature
Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature launch has been less than stellar, despite high player demand. This has led developers to announce a rework of the trading system.
As a temporary measure, all players will receive 1000 Trade Tokens via the in-game Gifts menu. Trade Tokens are a crucial currency for card trading within the app.
The planned trading overhaul aims to address player concerns. Many criticized the initial system's restrictions, such as rarity limitations on tradable cards and the requirement for Trade Tokens.
Rethinking Trading
The developers could have avoided many issues by either implementing completely open trading or foregoing the feature altogether. While concerns about bot exploitation are valid, restrictions likely posed only minor obstacles to determined players.
The upcoming trading rework is crucial. A well-executed digital trading system could significantly enhance Pokémon TCG Pocket's appeal as a viable alternative to the physical card game.
