Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Debuts Black and White Kyurem with New Adventure Effects

Mar 29,25

The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are making their much-anticipated debut at the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global, bringing with them exciting new Adventure Effects that enhance your Pokémon catching experience beyond battles. To fully leverage the event, don't forget to utilize the Tour Pass, which can significantly boost your earnings.

Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock ability envelops wild Pokémon in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing them and making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, facilitating the achievement of Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total possible duration of 24 hours.

During the event, you can challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. This energy is essential for fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, which will then be replaced by Freeze Shock or Ice Burn. Once separated, the moves revert back to Glaciate. Note that currently, these moves cannot be learned through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

ytAs part of the event, you can select between two event badges: Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). Choosing the Black Version means Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version, you'll get Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered post-defeat of White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.

To enhance your progression, the Tour Pass is invaluable. It unlocks various rewards and amplifies your Adventure Effects. You can earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone achieved will boost your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.

For those seeking the ultimate event experience, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version offers an immediate encounter with Victini, increased event-themed encounters, an exclusive avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with a friend from your Friend List, enhancing your next trade.

The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event is scheduled from February 24th to March 2nd, promising an engaging and rewarding experience for all participants.
