Pocketpair's Palworld, renowned for its expansive open-world exploration, continues to captivate players since its January 2024 launch. The Feybreak DLC significantly expanded the game, introducing numerous crafting materials, including the valuable Dark Fragments. These are crucial for crafting high-tier accessories, making their acquisition a priority for players.

How to Obtain Dark Fragments in Palworld

Dark Fragments are exclusively obtained from Dark-elemental Pals residing on Feybreak Island. This method doesn't apply to Dark-elemental Pals found elsewhere. Feybreak's coastal areas primarily feature ground and water-type Pals; you'll need to venture inland to locate Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some, like Starryon, are nocturnal unless they are boss variants.

Defeating or capturing these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments per encounter, though this isn't guaranteed. Efficiently hunting Dark Pals is key to accumulating sufficient Dark Fragments.

While less reliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on Feybreak. Thorough exploration is advised, although frequent combat will deplete ammunition, which may be better conserved for challenges like Bjorn, the island's Tower Boss.

Utilizing Dark Fragments in Palworld

Dark Fragments, while valuable, aren't used in a wide range of recipes. They're primarily for crafting specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots for the player character.

The following items require Dark Fragments. Remember to unlock the schematics in the Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu) using Technology Points, and ensure you have the necessary machines and resources.
