The team at Rebel Wolves, comprised of former developers from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, have announced their latest project, The Blood of Dawnwalker. Although the game isn't aiming for the full scope of a AAA title, the studio's ambitions are sky-high. Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, the founder of Rebel Wolves, shared their vision, stating:

“We want AAA quality, like The Witcher 3—that’s our heritage. But as a small studio on our first project, we’re creating something more compact yet just as polished.”

The Blood of Dawnwalker is expected to offer a 30-40 hour gameplay experience. Tomaszkiewicz reflected on this duration:

“Comparing anything to The Witcher 3, which was meant to last 100+ hours but often exceeded 200-300 hours, is crazy. But is size what makes a game AAA? Call of Duty is AAA without a massive campaign. So, does scale really matter?”

He also dismissed industry labels like “AAA” and “AAAA” as meaningless, emphasizing quality over categorization.

In The Blood of Dawnwalker, players will take on the role of a half-vampire on a mission to save his loved ones within a critical 30-day and 30-night timeframe. Despite the time limit, the game promises a smooth and engaging experience. Utilizing Unreal Engine 5, the game is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, though an exact release date has not yet been disclosed.
