R.E.P.O Console Release Confirmed

*R.E.P.O.*, the gripping co-op horror game that hit the scene in February, has captivated over 200,000 players on PC. Fans are eager to know if this chilling experience will extend to consoles. Here's the latest on that front.

Is R.E.P.O. Coming to Consoles?

Currently, *R.E.P.O.* remains exclusively a PC game, with no confirmed plans for a console release. The developer, semiwork, is fully focused on refining the game's multiplayer features. They face a significant challenge in balancing the need for robust anti-cheat systems with the desire to maintain support for community mods, which are incompatible with such systems.

"The main issue with matchmaking lobbies is hackers. But the issue with an anti-cheat system is that you're ruining the experience for everyone who has made mods, because mods don't work with an anti-cheat system. And we don't want that," explains the developer, as reported by PCGamer. This complex issue must be resolved before any consideration of a console port can be entertained.

While other PC-exclusive titles like *Mouthwashing* have made the leap to consoles, these are primarily single-player games, simplifying the transition. Multiplayer-focused games like *Lethal Company* and *Content Warning*, which share a similar premise of evading monsters, have also stayed PC-only. Last year, *Content Warning*'s developers hinted at a possible console release but cited technical difficulties, and there has been no further update since.

For now, the focus for *R.E.P.O.* is squarely on enhancing its PC multiplayer experience, with no indication from semiwork of any plans to bring the game to consoles. If you're interested in exploring more about *R.E.P.O.*, check out our guide on how to access the Secret Shop within the game.
