"Respawn and Bit Reactor to Unveil Star Wars: Zero Company This Weekend"
Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially unveiled the title of its upcoming Star Wars game, along with the team behind its creation. The game, titled Star Wars: Zero Company, is being crafted by the newly established studio Bit Reactor, with backing from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn.
Details about Star Wars: Zero Company remain sparse, but we do know it will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game". Fans won't have to wait long for more insights, as EA has scheduled a first look at the game for April 19 during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan.
Bit Reactor, founded in 2022, is a strategy game studio composed of seasoned developers from acclaimed titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although it was previously known that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, this is the first instance where concrete details have surfaced.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in Star Wars: Zero Company remains somewhat ambiguous. Respawn has faced its own set of challenges recently, including the cancellation of a Star Wars FPS project a year ago, alongside significant layoffs at EA, and the recent termination of another multiplayer FPS project.
Further details about Star Wars: Zero Company will be unveiled during a live panel on Saturday, April 19 at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For those of us in the U.S., that's unfortunately at 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so be sure to set your alarms to catch this exciting reveal.
