Marvel Snap Deck Guide: September 2024 Edition

This month's Marvel Snap (Free) meta is surprisingly balanced, but the new season and cards are poised to shake things up. Let's explore some top-tier decks, including some more accessible options. Remember, deck viability fluctuates; these are snapshots of the current meta. These decks assume a complete card collection.

While the Young Avengers haven't drastically altered the landscape, the new Amazing Spider-Season and Activate ability are game-changers. October's meta will likely be vastly different.

Top-Tier Decks

1. Kazar and Gilgamesh

Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird

This surprisingly strong Kazoo variant utilizes low-cost cards buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, while Gilgamesh thrives in this high-buff environment. Kate Bishop offers flexibility and cost reduction for Mockingbird.

2. Silver Surfer Still Reigns Supreme, Part II

Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool

The enduring Silver Surfer deck receives minor adjustments for balance changes and new cards. Nova/Killmonger provide early boosts, Forge enhances Brood's clones, Gwenpool buffs hand cards, Shaw benefits from buffs, Hope provides energy, Cassandra Nova steals opponent's power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secure victory. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.

3. Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Domination

Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum

The Ongoing archetype remains potent. Spectrum's final-turn buff synergizes with all Ongoing cards. Luke Cage/Man-Thing provide protection and power, and Cosmo's utility is increasing. This deck is relatively easy to play.

4. Discard Dracula's Reign of Terror

Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse

A classic Apocalypse Discard deck, featuring the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards, aiming for a final-turn Apocalypse/Dracula combo. The Collector provides additional potential.

5. The Unstoppable Destroy Deck

Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death

The Destroy deck remains strong, with Attuma's buff making him a valuable addition. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, utilize X-23's energy generation, and finish with Nimrod or Knull. Arnim Zola's absence reflects the increased prevalence of counter-measures.

Fun & Accessible Decks

6. Darkhawk's Return

Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature

A fun deck centered around Darkhawk, utilizing Korg and Rockslide to populate the opponent's deck, and including disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova.

7. Budget Kazar

Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught

A beginner-friendly Kazar variant, lacking some of the higher-cost cards but still showcasing the core combo. This deck provides valuable experience with the strategy.

The September meta is dynamic. The new Activate ability and Symbiote Spider-Man will significantly impact October's landscape. Enjoy the snap!
