The Samsung 990 Evo Plus is a top-tier drive for your gaming PC and PS5. It handily surpasses Sony's minimum speed requirements, boasting sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and 6,300MB/s respectively. While not quite as fast as the 990 Pro, it's significantly faster than the standard 990 Evo. The key difference? This is a DRAM-less drive. For PS5 gaming, this makes no difference at all. For PCs, it uses HMB (host memory buffer), borrowing a tiny amount of system RAM – a difference gamers won't notice.
