Shin Chan Game Hits Crunchyroll Mobile Exclusive
Crunchyroll prepares to enrich its collection with an exclusive new title for Ani-May celebrations
Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town makes its exclusive mobile debut
This charming life-simulation adventure lets players explore Akita's rural landscapes alongside the enigmatic Coal Town
Crunchyroll continues expanding its exclusive anime gaming portfolio with the mobile launch of Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town. Following their established model, this release will be available solely through their premium subscription service as part of this year's Ani-May lineup.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Crayon Shin-Chan represents a cultural phenomenon in Japan similar to Doraemon (which we recently featured). The series chronicles the amusing everyday experiences of five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin Chan" Nohara and his colorful circle of family and friends.
Shiro and the Coal Town not only features beloved characters from the long-running series but also pays homage to the PlayStation classic My Summer Vacation. This influential life simulator gained Western recognition years after its original Japanese release, yet maintains a devoted international following.

A Perfect Summer Escape
Beyond appealing to existing fans or those nostalgic for Boku No Natsuyasumi (My Summer Vacation's original title), this game offers diverse entertainment. Players guide Shin Chan through authentic rural experiences in Akita prefecture, engaging in activities like fishing expeditions and backyard gardening while uncovering local secrets.
For those seeking more extraordinary adventures, the mysterious Coal Town presents an imaginative contrast to the pastoral setting. With its visually stunning environments and varied gameplay, this title brings fresh energy to the life simulation genre.
This release further cements Crunchyroll's reputation for delivering unique cult favorites to mobile audiences. If you're interested in more unconventional gaming experiences, explore our ranking of the 25 best mobile RPGs across iOS and Android platforms.
