New Shining Revelry Expansion Coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket This Month
My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I'm deeply engaged whenever a new set launches and continue playing to earn Emblems for accumulating around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily to open packs and participate in Wonder Picks for fun, but that's about it until the next day. This cycle is set to restart with the release of the upcoming expansion, Shining Revelry, scheduled for March 27th.
This expansion will add 110 new cards to the Pokemon TCG Pocket, featuring a variety of new Ex Pokemon, Trainer cards, and the stunning art cards that fans adore. The most thrilling addition, hinted at by the name of the expansion, is the inclusion of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique color variations of the creatures you know and love. For instance, you'll find a yellow Lucario instead of blue, and a Pachirisu with a striking pink stripe.
The trailer, which you can view below, offers just a glimpse of what's in store. A highlight is the new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and a powerful attack named Steam Artillery, which inflicts 150 damage at the cost of five energy. That's a hefty requirement, but its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy cards at once, easing the burden.
Another exciting addition is the new Ex version of Lucario. Previously more of a support in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is primed for frontline combat. With 150 HP, it's not the most durable, but its Aura Sphere attack, which requires three Fighting Energy and deals 100 damage, also hits an opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30, making it a versatile choice.
The trailer also teases other noteworthy cards. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are coming, each with their unique flair. Additionally, a stunning art rare of Tatsugiri is a must-have for my digital collection.
Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases. If you're intrigued, you can easily download it on your preferred platform using the links provided below.
