The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket has arrived, and with it comes the dazzling addition of shiny variants. The expansion, aptly named Shining Revelry, introduces over 110 new cards, including exciting additions from the Paldea region. These shiny cards are making players eager to spend their Hourglasses, hoping to pull some of these glittering gems from their 10-pack openings.

As soon as the update was released, I couldn't resist using a chunk of my Pack Hourglasses to open ten packs. To my delight, I managed to pull a Charizard EX, although the rest of the haul was less impressive. However, finding a Pokémon Center Lady in the mix brought some comfort, knowing she can heal Special Conditions—a crucial ability when dealing with pesky status effects like Burn.

Following the trend of previous expansions, Shining Revelry also introduces an Emblem event where players can earn new badges to show off to their friends. The real excitement, however, comes with the introduction of Ranked Matches. Players will now battle other Trainers as they progress from Beginner to Master Ball Rank. Your points will be displayed throughout the season, which lasts approximately one month, and you'll be awarded an emblem at the end. It's time to dust off those dueling skills and start building competitive decks.
