Sonic Rumble Launch Postponed as Sega Prepares Major Update

May 27,26
  • Sonic Rumble release delayed
  • Sega rolls out version 1.2 with fresh features
  • Discord Q&A scheduled for fans

Despite a vibrant pre-launch event showcasing Super Monkey Ball, Altered Beast, and other Sega classics, Sonic Rumble’s global debut has been delayed. The multiplayer battle royale, which garnered over 1.4 million pre-registrations, was poised for release but Sega has paused to refine the experience.

The delay aligns with the upcoming version 1.2 update, introducing exciting additions like Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills to Dr. Eggman’s toybox universe. These features aim to enrich gameplay, offering more depth beyond the fast-paced competition.

Rumble Rankings introduce seasonal leaderboards with rewards, while Crews enable collaborative score missions with friends. The new Skills system equips characters with unique abilities, adding strategic depth to battles.

Instead of launching with these features unfinished, Sega chose to take extra time to perfect them. A Q&A session is planned for May 2nd on Discord, where fans can get updates and ask questions directly.

While waiting, check out the top battle royale games available on iOS to keep the action going!

The delay hasn’t dimmed Sonic Rumble’s hype. All pre-registration rewards remain secure, including 5,000 Rings, a Crystal Chao Buddy, the Happy Sticker, the Garnet Knuckles skin, and a stylish Movie Sonic skin earned from hitting the 1.4 million pre-registration mark.
