The mobile gaming phenomenon Monopoly Go is set to thrill fans with a new collaboration featuring the iconic Star Wars universe. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this exciting crossover will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from the beloved Skywalker Saga and the hit series The Mandalorian. This partnership promises to inject a dose of science fiction flair into the classic real estate dice-rolling game.

During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players can look forward to seeing their favorite characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn in adorable cartoon forms. The event will also introduce a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, exhilarating podracing in the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and a variety of collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the unique spectacle of these legendary characters mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into such collaborations. Last September, the game featured a Marvel-themed event, where Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers joined the Monopoly universe, adding a superhero twist to the gameplay.

In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, signaling their continued growth in the mobile gaming industry.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has been ranked as the top game for consumer spending in 2024, generating an impressive $2.47 billion. This year, the game has also achieved 150 million downloads and boasts 10 million daily active users, underscoring its massive popularity and success in the mobile gaming market.
