Stellar Blade Holiday Update Makes It Feel Naughtier or Nicer
Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Get ready for some holiday cheer in Stellar Blade! Shift Up is bringing a festive update to the game on December 17th, transforming Xion into a winter wonderland.
New Holiday Outfits and Decorations:
Eve and other characters are getting stylish new Christmas-themed costumes. Deck the halls (and your character) with these festive looks:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I’m No Santa (Adam)
Eve's holiday makeover is complete with a new Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Festive Xion and a New Mini-Game:
Xion itself gets a holiday makeover, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp will also be decked out for the season, complete with new seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away"). A new mini-game will also be introduced, promising special rewards for hitting targets on a holiday-themed drone. Details on the mini-game are still scarce.
Control Your Festive Fun:
The update introduces an option to enable or disable seasonal events (including the Nier:Automata DLC) in the game's settings under Gameplay -> Seasonal Event Content. Choose from:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content.
Note: Changing this setting requires a restart from your latest save.
Mixed Reception:
While many fans are excited about the update, some have expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content has also drawn criticism.
