"Switch 2's New C Button Unveiled Before Direct"
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch very soon, and excitement among fans continues to build. Some sharp-eyed observers have even caught glimpses of its final design. Read on to discover the latest details about the upcoming hybrid console.
Nintendo Switch 2 Features The New C Button
Functionality To Be Unveiled During the Direct
With the Nintendo Switch 2 slated for release in 2025 and a dedicated Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2nd, anticipation is at an all-time high. However, it seems Nintendo may have already teased some key details ahead of the official reveal—including the inclusion of a new C button.
A recent development has caught the attention of fans: the release of Nintendo's new smartphone app called Nintendo Today. This app promises to deliver real-time updates on news, games, and other Nintendo-related content directly to users' devices. While browsing the app’s listings on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, eagle-eyed users discovered promotional images featuring the message: "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics and more every day."
Zooming in further, one of these promotional images appears to display the final design of the Nintendo Switch 2, including its redesigned Joy-Cons. Most notably, it confirms the presence of the previously rumored C button on the right Joy-Con.
In the initial teaser released back in January, the new button located beneath the Home button was shown only as a plain black square—sparking endless speculation about its function. Was it a social feature? A sensor upgrade? Now, thanks to the Nintendo Today app visuals, the mystery surrounding its identity appears resolved: it's officially labeled as the C button.
What exactly the C button does, however, remains unknown. Its functionality will most likely be officially revealed during the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation. Stay tuned!
