Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), a game released over a decade ago in September 2013, continues to defy expectations. Despite its age, it sold an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone, solidifying its place as one of history's best-selling games.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), released in October 2018, also shows remarkable staying power. Sales figures rose by 3 million copies in the last quarter, bringing the total to 70 million copies sold.

Much of this success can be attributed to GTA Online, the ever-evolving multiplayer component of GTA V. Take-Two Interactive's commitment to ongoing updates, such as December 2024's "Agents of Sabotage," keeps players engaged and returning for more.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed several highly anticipated releases. Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) is slated for a Fall 2025 release, while Mafia: The Old Country is expected in Summer 2025, and Borderlands 4 later in the year.

For those concerned about potential delays, particularly regarding the much-anticipated GTA VI, Take-Two's recent financial presentation reaffirmed the Fall 2025 release window. While no specific dates have been given for Borderlands 4, its release in 2025 has also been confirmed.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar Games' meticulous development process, stating, "Rockstar is taking a careful approach to the development process, which may require additional time, as was the case with the company's previous projects—such as GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2." This suggests a commitment to quality, even if it means a slightly longer wait for these highly anticipated titles.
