Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their beloved sandbox game, Teardown, with the introduction of a multiplayer mode and the launch of a new expansion called Folkrace DLC. The Folkrace DLC will enrich the single-player experience by adding new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players can look forward to competing in various events, earning rewards, and customizing their vehicles to dominate the tracks.

The eagerly awaited multiplayer update will initially be available on Steam's Experimental Branch, offering players early access to test this new feature. Tuxedo Labs is actively seeking feedback, particularly from the modding community, as they plan to update the game’s API. This update will enable modders to adapt their creations for use in multiplayer settings.

The developers have shared that integrating multiplayer into Teardown has been a long-term goal and a top request from the game's community. This announcement signifies the fulfillment of that vision.

Upon its launch, the multiplayer mode will be accessible through the "Experimental" branch on Steam, allowing players to explore this new dimension of gameplay. Concurrently, the team will release API updates to support modders in ensuring their mods are compatible with multiplayer environments. After thorough testing, multiplayer will become a permanent feature of Teardown.

Looking to the future, Tuxedo Labs has teased that two more major DLCs are currently in development, with more information to be disclosed later in 2025.
