Tides of Annihilation: a beautiful action game announced
Tides of Annihilation, drawing inspiration from Arthurian legend, casts players as Gwendolyn, a young woman battling alongside spectral knights to rescue her family and mend a fractured world.
The game unfolds in a ravaged, modern-day London, overrun by a mysterious otherworldly invasion. Players will confront waves of enemies alongside their ghostly allies, facing off against colossal, roaming knights as the primary antagonists. Victory requires daring climbs onto these behemoths and engaging in intense, close-quarters combat.
While visually impressive, the game's narrative presents a challenge. The recent trend of Soulslike games reimagining classic tales has yielded fresh perspectives – the relatively unknown "Journey to the West" and the surprising twist on Pinocchio in Lies of P. However, the Arthurian legend, being frequently revisited, lacks the same innovative appeal. Despite its stunning visuals, Tides of Annihilation unfortunately lacks a truly unique narrative hook.
