Top Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked

May 18,25

This month, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the epic conclusion to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the last Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012. Fans eagerly anticipated this film, knowing it would showcase Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A major plot point was the fate of the Jedi, which was addressed through Order 66. This sinister directive from Emperor Palpatine turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi they had fought alongside during the Clone Wars, leading to the near annihilation of the Jedi Order. Despite the vast number of Jedi at the time, it was plausible that some managed to escape Palpatine's purge, beyond the few known survivors from the Original Trilogy.

In the years following the film, numerous Order 66 survivors have been introduced in various Star Wars canon stories. We've compiled a list of the top 10 Jedi survivors who have left a significant mark on the Star Wars universe. These survivors range from those who lived only briefly after the order to those who endured much longer, with some fates still shrouded in mystery. Each of these Jedi managed to survive at least one more day after Palpatine's chilling command to "Execute Order 66."

For this ranking, we've set specific criteria: the characters must have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, regardless of their rank—be it Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even a young Jedi Initiate. This excludes Force-users like Maul and Palpatine, as well as those who never officially joined the Jedi Order, such as Jod Na Nawood, despite receiving some Jedi training.

There was some debate about including Asajj Ventress on this list. She was trained by Jedi Master Ky Narec on Rattatak, who considered her his Padawan. However, Ventress never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council, and her subsequent turn to the Dark Side under Count Dooku complicates her status as a Jedi. Therefore, we've designated her as an honorable mention.
