Vay Makes triumphant Return on Android
SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a revitalized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG receives a modern makeover, boasting enhanced graphics, a streamlined user interface, and controller compatibility.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay enjoyed a 2008 iOS re-release courtesy of SoMoGa. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
The updated Vay features over 100 enemies, a dozen formidable bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout addition is the customizable difficulty settings.
Convenience is key with the inclusion of an auto-save function and Bluetooth controller support, offering players flexible gameplay options. Character progression involves acquiring new equipment, learning spells, and utilizing an AI system for autonomous combat.
The Story Unveiled:
Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, Vay's narrative unfolds on a technologically underdeveloped planet after a catastrophic machine crash-lands. This destructive machine, malfunctioning and bent on annihilation, leaves a trail of devastation.
Players assume the role of a protagonist embarking on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a mission that could potentially save the entire world. The idyllic wedding day turns into a desperate fight for survival as the bride is kidnapped, propelling the hero on an epic journey to confront the war machines.
Vay masterfully blends nostalgia with modern sensibilities. True to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game features nearly ten minutes of captivating animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.
Download the premium version of the revamped Vay from the Google Play Store for $5.99. For more gaming news, check out our other articles, such as "Unlock Love and Goodies with the Loving Reveries Update in Tears of Themis."
