World of Warcraft Gets Major Content Expansion

Feb 02,25

World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, "Undermined," expands beyond its namesake zone, introducing several new subzones. Key additions include Gutterville and Kaja’Coast, significantly enriching the game's landscape.

New Subzones in WoW Patch 11.1:

  • Undermine: The central focus, a sprawling subterranean Goblin city.
  • Gutterville: Situated in the Ringing Deeps' southeastern corner, this subzone features Excavation Site 9, a new delve, and possibly a connection to Undermine's corrupted area, indicated by its maroon coloration suggestive of Black Blood.
  • Kaja’Coast: A Goblin encampment in Zuldazar, near Bilgewater Bonanza, likely serving as another entry point to Undermine.

These additions were discovered via datamining of game files by Wowhead. The map reveals Slam Central Station as Undermine's main hub, with five apparent access points, suggesting the possibility of three more yet-to-be-discovered locations.

The initial announcement showcased a drill-like tram, hinting at the connection between Kaja’Coast and Undermine. While the exact function of these subzones remains partially unknown, their Goblin theme and proximity to Undermine strongly suggest interconnectedness.

Release and PTR Access:

While a firm release date is pending, current projections point to a mid-to-late February launch. However, players can anticipate early January access to the new content on the Public Test Realm (PTR). This allows for early exploration and familiarization with Undermine and its accompanying subzones before the official release.
