Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to receive a second year of DLC content, with exciting details emerging about its massive 10.0 update.

Having sold over 7 million copies, the game's continued support comes as no surprise. Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive confirmed in a community update that Year 2 will introduce new PvE missions, enemy types, weapons, and additional unannounced content.

As part of its first anniversary in September, Space Marine 2 will receive a major 10.0 update. However, players can expect Patch 9.0 to arrive first. While originally planned to include a new PvP mode, this feature has been postponed to 10.0, leaving 9.0 focused on balance adjustments.

The delayed PvP mode brings an interesting twist - it will feature Chaos vs Chaos battles on a new map, with players gaining control of the formidable Helbrute. This deadly Chaos Dreadnought variant, featuring a trapped Chaos Space Marine pilot, made its memorable appearance in the campaign during a brutal encounter with Ultramarine Brother Valtus. The update also adds highly anticipated Chaos armor sets requested by the community.

Update 10.0 introduces the powerful new Power Axe melee weapon, complete with unique animations and executions:

Previous datamines hinted at the Power Axe's inclusion, aligning with Games Workshop's current Space Wolves focus in the tabletop game. The weapon also references fan-created content, as modders previously implemented the axe from Prime Video's Warhammer 40,000: Secret Level episode.

Perhaps most exciting is the confirmation of a new class - the Techmarine - arriving for both PvE and PvP gameplay. While visuals remain under wraps, datamine discoveries (including a 'shoulder gun bolter' perk) strongly indicated this engineering-focused Space Marine variant was in development. Techmarines specialize in vehicle maintenance and technology, serving both their Chapter and the Cult Mechanicus.

This substantial content roadmap continues despite the surprising announcement of Space Marine 3's development. Currently, players can enjoy Patch 8.0's recently launched Siege Mode - the game's take on a survival-style horde mode.
