Warzone Lobby Crashes Plague Call of Duty

Feb 08,25

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

This follows a series of issues plaguing Warzone in recent months, including server outages and ongoing problems with cheating and bugs. The latest issue, reported on January 6th, prompted an investigation by Raven Software.

Although the underlying bug remains unpatched (as of the Trello board update), a January 9th Twitter announcement revealed a temporary measure: Skill Rating penalties and timeouts are suspended for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player concerns over unwarranted penalties caused by the glitch. Penalties will still apply for players leaving mid-match.

This temporary fix offers some relief, but the persistent bugs, even after a major January 2025 update, remain a concern for players. The ongoing challenges highlight the significant workload facing the Warzone development team in addressing these issues.
