The chronological journey of the Xenomorphs begins with the first crossover film, AVP: Alien vs. Predator. Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, known for Resident Evil and Event Horizon, this film sets the stage in 2004, where humans uncover that Predators, or "Yautja," have been visiting Earth for millennia.
