WoW Announces Extension for Anniversary Event Currency Spending

Apr 19,25

Summary

  • World of Warcraft will automatically convert any remaining Bronze Celebration Tokens into Timewarped Badges in Patch 11.1.
  • The conversion rate is set at 1:20, meaning players will receive 20 Timewarped Badges for each unused Bronze Celebration Token.
  • Players should log in after the patch is released to benefit from the automatic conversion of their tokens.

In the upcoming Patch 11.1, World of Warcraft will ensure that no player is left behind by converting any leftover Bronze Celebration Tokens from the 20th anniversary event into Timewarped Badges. This automatic conversion will take place as soon as players log in following the patch's release, providing 20 Timewarped Badges for every unused Bronze Celebration Token in their inventory.

The 20th anniversary event of World of Warcraft, which lasted 11 weeks, allowed players to amass hundreds of Bronze Celebration Tokens. These tokens were used to acquire the revamped Tier 2 sets and various anniversary collectibles. Any surplus tokens could be exchanged for Timewarped Badges, which are used during Timewalking events.

With the event now concluded, World of Warcraft is taking steps to assist players who still possess Bronze Celebration Tokens. As confirmed by WoW community manager Linxy in a forum post, any remaining tokens will be automatically converted into Timewarped Badges at the same 1:20 ratio that was used during the event. This conversion will occur the first time players log in after Patch 11.1 is released.

World of Warcraft Bronze Celebration Token Auto-Conversion in Patch 11.1

As of January 7, when the event concluded, Bronze Celebration Tokens became obsolete. Blizzard has stated that they have no plans to reuse this currency, even if the revamped Tier 2 sets are reintroduced in future events. The automatic conversion in Patch 11.1 ensures that players who did not spend all their tokens will not be left with a useless currency entry.

While Patch 11.1 does not yet have a confirmed release date, it is expected to launch around February 25. This date aligns with the end of the second Plunderstorm event (January 14 to February 17) and the Turbulent Timeways event (running through February 24). The timing follows Blizzard's recent release schedule, considering the holiday period.

Unfortunately, the conversion of Bronze Celebration Tokens will likely occur after the second Turbulent Timeways event concludes. This seven-week event spans all Timewalking campaigns, offering numerous opportunities to spend Timewarped Badges. However, since the rewards available with Timewarped Badges are not disappearing, players can save their badges for future Timewalking events.
