Xbox Game Pass January 2025: New Games and Departures
Microsoft has unveiled its first Xbox Game Pass lineup for 2025, confirming several anticipated titles and announcing some upcoming departures. The January additions include a mix of genres and access tiers, offering something for most subscribers.
Key Highlights:
- New Arrivals: Seven games are joining the service this month, including the highly anticipated Diablo and UFC 5.
- Tier Exclusivity: Diablo is exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, while UFC 5 is a Game Pass Ultimate-only title.
- Departures: Six games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15th.
- Early Access: Lightyear Frontier enters the service in preview/early access.
- Returning Favorite: Road 96 makes a welcome return to the platform.
January 2025 Game Pass Additions:
The official Xbox blog announced seven new games, launching at different points throughout the month:
- Road 96: Available now (January 7th) for all tiers.
- Lightyear Frontier (Preview): Available January 8th (Standard subscription).
- My Time at Sandrock: Available January 8th (Standard subscription).
- Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders: Available January 8th (Standard subscription).
- Rolling Hills: Available January 8th (Standard subscription).
- UFC 5: Available January 14th (Game Pass Ultimate only).
- Diablo: Available January 14th (Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass only).
Previous leaks accurately predicted the arrival of Diablo and UFC 5, though the tier restrictions were also confirmed. The remaining titles are accessible with a standard Game Pass subscription.
Game Pass Ultimate Perks:
In addition to the new games, several Game Pass Ultimate perks launched on January 7th, including weapon charms for Apex Legends and DLC packs for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball.
