Convergent Ralts Forms Emerge for Devoted Pokémon Fans
A talented Pokémon fan has crafted inventive convergent forms for Ralts, with unique designs for each gender. The Pokémon community frequently leverages existing franchise concepts to fuel their creativity, and convergent forms—a relatively new idea in the Pokémon universe—are a popular choice.
Introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, convergent Pokémon share ecological similarities, resulting in similar appearances despite being distinct species. Paldea and Kitakami boast six examples: Toedscool, Toedscruel, Wiglett, Wugtrio, Poltchageist, and Sinistcha, the convergent counterparts of Tentacool, Tentacruel, Diglett, Dugtrio, Polteageist, and Sinistea respectively. This concept inspires countless fan creations, such as a recent artwork featuring Ralts.
Twitter user OnduRegion unveiled a captivating concept: two convergent Ralts forms, dubbed "Salts." The female Salts resembles a mermaid, its bowl cut adorned with a starfish, its eyes clearly visible. The male Salts, conversely, sports a differently colored tail, shark-like fins in its bowl cut, and a concealed face.
Imaginative Fan Art Transforms Ralts into a Water-Type Pokémon
OnduRegion's artwork includes detailed information, such as abilities and stats. The female Salts, a Water/Psychic type, is described in its Pokédex entry as luring ocean-goers to pilfer their possessions. The male Salts, a Water/Dark type, is depicted as a stubborn, clumsy creature with a habit of gnawing on hard objects to strengthen its teeth.
This isn't OnduRegion's first foray into impressive Pokémon fan art. Previous works include striking new forms for Charcadet, a novel Hawlucha evolution, and compelling Paradox Forms for Mewtwo X and Y. Like their other creations, these Ralts convergent forms seamlessly blend creativity with the established Pokémon aesthetic. The accompanying lore further enhances the designs, making it easy for fans to envision Ralts with convergent forms in the actual games.
