Essential gameplay rules:
Following the even distribution among four players, participants alternate between passing or bidding the number of tricks (above six) they anticipate winning in a chosen suit or No Trump. This auction-style bidding continues until three consecutive passes occur.
The player preceding the Declarer initiates the opening lead. Subsequent players must follow suit when possible, with the highest card claiming each trick. The winning team must fulfill their contract by taking the promised number of tricks, while opponents aim to prevent this.
After the opening lead, the Dummy's hand becomes visible to all players. The Declarer strategically plays both their cards and the Dummy's. Successful bidders control both hands during play.
Scoring awards contract points for fulfilled bids or penalizes with undertrick points. The Rubber concludes when a team wins two out of three games, achieved by accumulating 100 contract points per game.
