"Assassin's Creed Shadows: Free Updates and DLC Roadmap Revealed"
Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising to enhance the gaming experience with a variety of new features. This includes the introduction of new game+ mode, additional difficulty settings, and new story content, among other enhancements.
The company released a concise yet informative four-and-a-half-minute video today, detailing its plans for 2025. The roadmap provides a clear schedule for May and June, showcasing Ubisoft's commitment to keeping the community engaged through a series of free updates throughout the year.

The rollout begins in early May with the first free story add-on, The Works of Luis Frois. Alongside this, players can expect a Codex update and several quality-of-life improvements. Significant enhancements to parkour mechanics and a photo mode update are also slated for next month. These updates are a testament to Ubisoft's ongoing effort to incorporate community feedback into the development of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released,” said community developer Daniel St. Germain in the video. He emphasized that regular title updates will include impactful additions and changes based on player feedback, along with necessary bug fixes to refine the experience across all platforms.
In June, players can look forward to another free story drop, as well as the introduction of more challenging difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear visibility during cutscenes. These changes are highly anticipated by the community, but Ubisoft has more in store, including new game+ support, additional story content, special collaborations, and other features before the year ends.
The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, set to release later in the year. This expansion will feature new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore, spanning a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the expansion will be free for players who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.
