Cato: Butter-Loving Cat Stars in New Platformer Puzzle Game
A new aesthetically pleasing game is coming to Android. It’s called Cato: Buttered Cat. If you’re wondering what’s with the name, let me break it down for you. The word Cato amalgamates the words cat and toast, and so does the game.Does anyone ever wonder what happens when you strap buttered toast to a cat’s back? I never wondered, and maybe you never did, too. But the devs Cato: Buttered Cat did, and now they want you to find out about it. Well, the answer to that is the cat never lands, it just spins forever in a glorious anti-gravity loop!Cato: Buttered Cat actually started as an entry for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam competition hosted by GCORES. Developed by Team Woll, the project got such good feedback that they decided to turn it into a full-fledged game. The game just dropped on Steam today for PC players. But it’s making its way to Android and other platforms soon. The Google Play page isn’t up yet, but you can head over to the official TapTap page for the Android version and pre-register for the game. So, What Do You Do In Cato: Buttered Cat?It’s a puzzle platformer where you control both a cat and a piece of buttered toast. Together, they solve puzzles, defeat enemies and explore a bunch of whimsical worlds. You get five different worlds to explore with different quirky machines and contraptions. There are 200 levels in total, including side quests. Little bits of the story are scattered throughout the levels, waiting for you to piece them together. You also get 30 different outfits. One of the coolest things is the interaction between the cat and the toast. The cat can climb, run and do all sorts of cat-like things while the toast acts more like a projectile. You can power it up and let it fly to help the cat reach places it couldn’t get to on its own.CATO: Buttered Cat also has hidden rooms and Easter eggs galore. On that note, catch a glimpse of the game below!
I hope the game lands on Android soon! In the meantime, read our news on Operation Lucent Arrowhead, The Second Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege Crossover.-
