Concord: Post-Launch Roadmap and Gameplay Tips Unveiled

With Concord's launch on August 23rd fast approaching, Sony and Firewalk Studios have detailed the game's post-launch content plan. This article summarizes the updates and offers gameplay strategies.

No Battle Pass Required

Concord, launching on August 23rd for PS5 and PC, will forgo the traditional battle pass model. Instead, Firewalk Studios prioritizes rewarding gameplay through account and character leveling, and job completion. Meaningful rewards are earned simply by playing.

Season 1: The Tempest - October 2024

Concord's first major update, "The Tempest," arrives in October, introducing:

• A new playable Freegunner.
• A brand-new map.
• Additional Freegunner Variants.
• New cosmetics and rewards.
• Weekly Cinematic Vignettes expanding the Northstar crew storyline.

An in-game store, launching alongside Season 1, will offer purely cosmetic items with no gameplay impact. These supplement the numerous rewards earned through progression.

Season 2 and Beyond

Season 2 is scheduled for January 2025, with Firewalk Studios committed to consistent seasonal content throughout Concord's first year.

Gameplay Strategies and the Crew Builder System

Firewalk Studios emphasizes the Crew Builder system for team composition. While each Custom Crew comprises five unique Freegunners, players can use up to three copies of a Freegunner's Variants. This allows for strategic team building based on playstyle and match challenges.

Unlike traditional shooter roles, Concord's Freegunners are high-DPS combatants. The six roles (Anchor, Breacher, Haunt, Ranger, Tactician, and Warden) impact matches through area control, tactical positioning, and flanking. Combining Freegunners from different roles unlocks Crew Bonuses, offering advantages like increased mobility and reduced cooldowns.
