Discover the innovative gameplay feature in Death Stranding 2 that allows players to bypass boss fights, opting for narrative-rich visual novel snippets instead. Dive into the latest updates on the game's development and what to expect from this highly anticipated sequel.
Death Stranding 2 Development Updates
New Feature Allows Players To Clear Bosses Without Combat
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach introduces an exciting feature designed to cater to players of all skill levels. During the recent Koji Pro radio broadcast on April 14, Hideo Kojima, the director of DS2, unveiled that players can now clear bosses without engaging in combat. This groundbreaking option allows players to select "continue" on the game over screen, bypassing the boss fight altogether.
Upon choosing this path, the game presents players with detailed images and text descriptions akin to a visual novel. This not only helps less experienced players progress but also ensures they don't miss out on crucial narrative elements tied to the boss encounters.
Death Stranding 2 Around 95% Complete
Hideo Kojima shared that Death Stranding 2 is nearing completion, currently standing at 95% finished. In his words, "It’s at about 95% now… It feels like it is 10 o’clock (PM), speaking of 24 hours, Koji Pro’s DS2 is at 10 o’clock (PM), there are 2 hours left." This indicates that the game is in its final stages of development.
The sequel picks up right where the original left off, promising to delve deeper into its intriguing universe. At last month's South by South West (SXSW) event, Kojima Productions and Sony provided a sneak peek into DS2's narrative through a captivating 10-minute trailer. This trailer not only showcased the game's story but also introduced new characters that have sparked considerable interest among fans.
Eagle-eyed viewers caught glimpses of a character resembling Solid Snake, along with several other new story elements and gameplay features. Additionally, the event highlighted the collector's edition of DS2 and detailed the pre-order bonuses.
