Year of Prophecy Roadmap Revealed at Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Reveal Event
Destiny 2 continues expanding its free-to-play multiplayer experience. Bungie showcased the Year of Prophecy roadmap during The Edge of Fate livestream on May 7, outlining major updates arriving throughout the year.
The developer announced revolutionary changes to their annual content structure: "Beginning with Year of Prophecy, each cycle will feature four key updates - two premium expansions complemented by two major free updates available to all Guardians."
These updates will introduce new activities, Exotic missions, gear, and rewards. Most significantly, seasonal content will no longer require purchases, ensuring all players can enjoy Destiny 2's evolving universe.
The Edge of Fate Launches July 15
Kicking off Year of Prophecy, The Edge of Fate expansion arrives July 15. Guardians will explore Kepler, a brand-new destination, while mastering fresh combat abilities alongside unexpected allies.
The update introduces Portal, "a streamlined activity selector helping players instantly access content matching their preferred playstyle." Alongside this quality-of-life improvement, expect comprehensive armor system refinements, new set bonuses, and significant character stat adjustments - with full details coming soon.
Renegades Coming December 2
The December 2 Renegades expansion brings Destiny 2's unprecedented collaboration with Star Wars. According to Bungie, this crossover merges Destiny's hallmark gameplay with Star Wars' iconic universe while advancing the Fate Saga's narrative.
