Sega's Unexpected Announcement: No New Football Manager for 2025
Sega and Sports Interactive have made the surprising announcement that Football Manager will not be receiving a new installment for the 2025 season. This news follows two previous delays and a statement confirming that all pre-orders will be fully refunded.
The reason cited for the cancellation is the game's unfinished state. While the developers aimed for a significant technological leap, they ultimately fell short of their ambitious goals. This candid admission is refreshing, a stark contrast to some other sports game franchises known for minimal updates between releases.
This decision, however, is still a setback for fans. The developers also confirmed that Football Manager 24 will not receive a 2025 season update. This is particularly disappointing given the game's history of influencing real-world football careers. For the next year, players will only have access to the older version of the game.
